Full Time | PM/N Shift | 7pm-7:30am | Sign-On Bonus: $20,000
Job SummaryProvides operational shift oversight, delegates care to staff, and facilitates timely patient admission, transfer, and discharge. Provides ongoing leadership, support, and guidance to all staff while presenting a positive image and attitude. Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process and collaborating with other healthcare team members. Uses a systematic critical‑thinking approach to guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention, and evaluation of human responses to actual and potential health problems through activities such as health teaching, supportive care, restorative care, or support of a peaceful death.
All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the mission, vision, strategic imperatives, and standards of Lexington Medical Center (LMC), the American Nurses Association Standards, and the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in relevant specialty areas within the past 5 years.
- Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): Consideration will be given to those with an ADN or Diploma who are presently enrolled in an RN‑to‑BS or RN‑to‑MS program and will complete the degree within 12 months of hire.
- Licensure: Current RN license to practice in South Carolina.

Certifications:
National nursing certification in specialty at time of hire or must be obtained within 6 months of hire. - Training: None required.

- Maintains continuity among nursing teams through accurate documentation and communication.
- Uses systematic critical-thinking to guide data gathering, assessment, judgment, intervention, and evaluation.
- Identifies, synthesizes, and interprets data using reasonable clinical judgment to respond to dynamic situations.
- Maintains patient confidence and protects operations with confidentiality.
- Uses ethical decision‑making processes to advocate for acceptable patient outcomes.
- Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards and measuring outcomes against goals.
- Resolves patient problems using multidisciplinary team strategies.
- Participates in process/performance improvement activities utilizing evidence‑based practice.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection‑control policies and controlled substance regulations.
- Documents all patient care activities accurately and timely.
- Provides safe, appropriate, quality care and support to patients and family.
- Holds team members accountable for standards of care, policies, and procedures.
- Serves as teacher, coach, and mentor to staff.
- Contributes to development and revision of unit standards.
- Exhibits effective conflict resolution and problem‑solving skills.
- Serves as staff leader in improvement activities utilizing evidence‑based practice.
- Fosters interdisciplinary communication and collaboration.
- Supports shared governance activities by serving on unit or hospital committees.
- Builds positive rapport with the health‑care team and demonstrates collaboration skills.
- Collaborates with instructors from affiliated agencies to assure continuity of patient care and learning.
- Provides feedback on unit operations and employee performance to the Nurse Manager.
- Serves as a resource and role model for professional patient care.
- Recognizes and responds appropriately to complex situations.
- Participates in patient‑care conferences and discharge planning conferences.
- Coordinates timely patient throughput and facilitates smooth transitions of care.
- Negotiates for nursing resources to meet patient care needs.
