DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of ER experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details- Emergency Department setting, General Emergency Department-Combined Adult/Pediatric and Non-Trauma ER
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7p-7a)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating within scope to like units/sister facilities required
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- Active SC RN license or Compact license must be in hand prior to start
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC, NRP
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
Experience with pediatric and adult ER patient populations, including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and behavioral health conditions - Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and blood product administration preferred
- Experience managing emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
- Triage and isolation precautions/PPE experience required
- Splinting and orthopedic care skills preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Deliver emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions, including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health cases
- Perform triage, cardiac monitoring, and emergency response interventions
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Must reside within 60 miles for local candidate consideration, though non-local candidates are prioritized
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on the position
- All requested RTO must be submitted at time of application for consideration
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November, peak August–September)
- No cost parking available on-site
