DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a day-shift position requiring a SC or compact RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.
Details- Medical Surgical unit within a 28-bed inpatient hospital
- Patient ratios of 1:6-7
- Day shift, 3x12 hours (7a-7p)
- Every other weekend requirement with holiday rotation
- No on-call requirement
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Experience with any charting system required
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access/management, blood product administration, and peripheral line care
- Experience with oxygen administration, nasal cannula, and oral suctioning
- Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
- Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration
- Provide Med/Surg nursing care including IV therapy, wound care, and respiratory support
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Facility prioritizes non-local candidates within a 60-mile radius; local candidates not accepted
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
- Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2-week period
