Pay Range: $31.00 - $38.00 per hour
Job SummaryResponsible for planning, organizing, implementing, directing, and evaluating direct nursing care provided to residents. Responsible for the preparation, delivery, and documentation of medications and treatments to assigned residents. Document changes in condition, unusual occurrences, weekly summaries, initial assessments, MDS assessments, etc., in a thorough and legible manner. Assures notification to the physician and responsible party with any change of condition with appropriate documentation.
Responsible for knowing and following current federal, state, and local standards and assuring compliance with standards functions.
- Follow facility policies and procedures and federal/state regulations.
- Participate in facility quality management program.
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Keep supervisor informed of work priorities and problems.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and disasters.
- Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Assure security of the environment to prevent exit of wandering residents.
- Implement the facility procedure for elopement if any resident leaves the facility without permission.
- Follow facility standards relating to customer service.
- Maintain confidentiality of residents and other work‑related issues.
- Assure that all residents are treated with respect and dignity.
- Follow facility rules of conduct.
- Attend in‑service related to work and complete required in‑service annually; attend outside classes to enhance role and professional standards, as appropriate.
- Provide timely notification of illness/absences to the appropriate supervisor following departmental policy and timeline.
- Attend facility meetings as assigned.
- Follow dress code for work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to perform nursing care per current community standard for long‑term care.
- Interact effectively with residents, visitors, administration, physicians, volunteers, and staff.
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations governing long‑term care.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English in a clear manner.
- Ability to understand and respond appropriately to cultural diversity.
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Charge nurse experience preferred.
- Currently licensed as an LVN to practice in the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
