We are excited to hire a full-time, year-round Assistant Park Ranger to join our team within the Parks and Recreation Department at Allison Creek Park. In this position, you will be responsible in ensuring that the parks are safe, clean, and well maintained for the enjoyment of campers, boaters, & day use visitors.
Projected Hiring Range/Pay Grade 107$16.78 per hour. Salary is determined based on experience and/or education.
Work ScheduleThe candidate must be flexible to work holidays and a rotating schedule that may include weekends, evenings, and day shifts.

- Constant monitoring of Park Property for safety hazards.
- Driving between County parks including but not limited to Allison Creek and Ebenezer is required. At times may need to drive a county truck to collect trash if our equipment needs to be serviced.
- Responds to unexpected problems with electrical and/or water systems and repair. Removes downed limbs, leaves and debris.
- Removes trash and debris from parks using various equipment to assist.
- Providing information to visitors on topics such as fish, wildlife, boating, local history and geography.
- Enforces Park rules and regulations such as length of stay, no alcohol and dog leash requirements to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
- Performs clerical work such as answering and returning phone calls, registering campers, assisting with camping and shelter reservations, and collecting fees from day area/ boat ramp users.
- Assists with traffic control measures during peak seasons.
- Performs janitorial duties in public restroom facilities.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- One (1) year of related experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- CPR certification, First Aid Certification, BBP certification, AED Certification required.
Applicants with equivalent experience and/or education may be considered.
Physical Demands- Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or considerable skill, adeptness and speed in the use of the fingers, hands or limbs in tasks involving close tolerances or limits of accuracy.

- Bright/dim light;
Dusts and pollen. - Extreme heat and/or cold;
Wet or humid conditions. - Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife.
