Standard work schedule: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (must be willing to work flexible schedule as needed)
Job SummaryCleaning of laboratory and equipment; autoclaving waste products; providing assistance and guidance to faculty and students, especially in preparing specialty media for Microbiology and Bacteriology lab courses; preparing all materials for weekly lab sections, including inoculation of bacterial cultures; and contributing to the overall success of the College of Arts and Sciences by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Responsibilities- Cleaning of laboratory and equipment.
- Autoclaving waste.
- Assisting faculty and students with media preparation.
- Inoculating bacterial cultures for lab sections.
- Performing other tasks as directed by the department.
Requires a bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Position AttributesEmployees in safety-sensitive or security-sensitive positions will be subject to pre-employment and post-employment drug testing in accordance with University policy HR 1.95.
No CDL required. No hazardous weather categories. Non-essential position.
