As a full-time Quality Engineer in the Quality Department at Aalberts, located in Pageland, SC, you will have direct responsibility for the quality of incoming components and finished goods. The Quality Engineer will work with our suppliers to ensure quality standards are communicated and met.
Responsibilities- Track supplier metrics including quality and financial measurements.
- Effectively communicate quality defect detection methods and standards to suppliers.
- Track and identify deviations and initiate sustainable corrective actions.
- When necessary, provide training on the use of root cause, corrective action tools such as 5‑why and 8D.
- Travel to supplier sites to conduct audits, communicate standards, and assist with corrective actions.
- Enforce a safe, clean work environment for all employees.
- Complete any additional duties as assigned by the manager.
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in a technical field.
- Prior experience in the field of supplier quality is required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with the ability to delegate assignments. Specifically, at an upper intermediate (B2) in the English language.
- Proficient with Microsoft word processing and Excel spreadsheet development.
- Must be able to use and understand quality measurement tools such as dial calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and other electronic measurement tools.
- Prior experience in a fast‑paced, industrial manufacturing setting is needed.
- Manufacturing Quality Engineering experience is a plus.
- Prior experience in QMS and problem‑solving methodologies (RCA, 8D, 6M, etc.)
- Auditing experience is a plus with a certification as an auditor – ISO
9001, IATF
16949, VDA 6.3
- Primarily based in production and warehouse area will require adherence to safety protocols including personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, safety vest, and steel‑toed shoes when on the shop floor or near loading docks.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer work, data entry, and handling documents.
- Must be able to occasionally lift or move items up to 25 pounds, such as files, boxes, or company branded items or equipment.
- Visual acuity to review detailed reports, production schedules, HR data, personnel data on screens and in print.
- Clear verbal communication skills to coordinate with all departments, vendors and colleagues.
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment that may include noise, temperature variations and moving equipment.
Occasional travel to supplier locations for auditing up to 20% of the time.
