Quality Auditor – Columbia, SC (Reporting to Quality Supervisor)
Responsibilities- Audit processes, test and inspect products, and develop, compile and evaluate statistical data to define and maintain product quality and reliability.
- Perform complex engineering testing, checkout, first‑article inspection, root‑cause research, internal corrective actions and supplier correction actions using engineering drawings, specifications, schematics, diagrams, layouts and defined plans.
- Select processes in manufacturing to audit and verify compliance with features such as ESD and handling practices, documentation, training and process integrity.
- Conduct receiving inspections, develop incoming quality control plans and dispose scrap to MRB within 24 hours.
- Utilize Microsoft Office (Excel charts, pivot tables, PowerPoint) to record audit data, apply statistical quality control procedures and develop reports.
- Evaluate data and write reports that validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Provide factory hold‑up to identify and resolve issues related to purchased parts, materials and manufacturing.
- Recommend modifications to quality or production standards, programs or reports to achieve optimum quality within equipment capability limits.
- Retrieve quality information from the quality system for QA reports.
- Perform out‑of‑box audits (OBA) as required.
- Ensure customer implementation activities are in place.
- Validate tooling and gauges, arrange calibration and maintain calibration records.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Proficiency in computing rates, ratios and percentages; drawing and interpreting bar graphs.
- Sound common‑sense understanding to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
- Capability to solve problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Advanced functional skills useful for on‑the‑job training and leadership of other employees.
- Broad knowledge of functional techniques with input to process improvements.
- Awareness of and ability to apply new techniques.
- Ability to read and comprehend moderately complex instructions.
- Proficiency in writing reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Skill in responding to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.
- Effective presentation skills in one‑to‑one and group settings.
