A Taste of What You’ll Do

Join a dynamic laboratory team at Gallo where science, quality, and innovation come together to support world‑class winemaking. As a Lab Tech, you will play a critical role in ensuring product excellence by performing chemical and physical analysis across a wide range of materials including beverages, grapes, and water. Your work will directly impact quality control, environmental monitoring, and the continuous improvement of winery processes.

In this hands‑on role, you will operate advanced analytical instrumentation while supporting sample preparation and laboratory operations. You’ll collaborate closely with your team to identify trends, troubleshoot unexpected deviations, and contribute to corrective actions that ensure product integrity. Your attention to detail and commitment to safety will help maintain a high‑performing, ISO‑compliant laboratory environment.

Shift

Graveyard 6pm-6:15am, 12 hours

What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or Biochemistry OR Associate’s degree plus 1 year of laboratory support experience; OR High school diploma or State‑issued equivalency certificate plus 4 years of laboratory support.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to maintain 3‑shift availability (day, swing, and graveyard); required to work overtime when necessary; required to work weekends when necessary.
  • Required to be at least 21 years of age.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
How You’ll Stand Out
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, or Biochemistry plus 2 years of chemistry/microbiology laboratory experience.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in an ISO:17025 accredited laboratory.
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Skilled in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Skilled in interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
