Position: Certified Weld Inspector | $5000 Sign-On Bonus
Location: Columbia

MAU is hiring a Certified Weld Inspector for our client in Columbia, SC. As a Certified Weld Inspector
, you will perform weld inspections, non-destructive examinations (NDE), dimensional inspections, and quality assurance activities to support the fabrication of pressure vessels, piping, and specialized equipment.
This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Required

Education and Experience
  • 2+ years of experience as a Certified Weld Inspector (CWI)
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Additional non-destructive examination (NDE) certifications, including PT, MT, or equivalent
  • Previous welding experience
General Requirements
  • Knowledge of visual examination methods for identifying corrosion, metal fatigue, cracks, and other material flaws
  • Execute inspection plans for pressure vessels, piping, and fabricated equipment
  • Interpret and review engineering drawings as required
  • Document non-destructive examination methods, processes, and results
  • Interpret inspection results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures
  • Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to appropriate parties
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to visually inspect structural steel, piping, and pressure vessel internals
  • Strong work ethic with exceptional commitment to safety and quality
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow established procedures
  • Ability to successfully pass a drug test, pre-employment physical, and background investigation
Essential Functions
  • Perform weld inspections, non-destructive examinations (NDE), and dimensional inspections
  • Verify material testing and supporting documentation
  • Monitor fabrication activities and quality control processes
  • Ensure all required documentation is accurate and complete
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with implementing the company's NQA-1 Quality Control Program
  • Prepare inspection documentation and maintain quality records

    Review engineering drawings and inspection requirements
  • Evaluate inspection results for compliance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and procedures
  • Communicate inspection findings to appropriate stakeholders
