Quality Assurance Analyst
Location:
Columbia, SC
Duration: 12 months
Position type: W2 contract
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
- Execute manual, functional, regression, usability, integration, and negative testing to validate application functionality and performance.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities and ensure business requirements are fully validated.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, document findings, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
- Design and execute automated testing scripts with appropriate oversight.
- Perform quality assessments to identify application defects, security vulnerabilities, and performance improvement opportunities.
- Create and maintain QA documentation, defect logs, test execution reports, and testing metrics.
- Maintain defect tracking databases and monitor issue resolution throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Coordinate with product managers, business analysts, developers, and software engineers to improve product quality and performance.
- Participate in reviews, walkthroughs, inspections, and quality governance activities.
- Ensure compliance with established software testing methodologies, standards, and organizational best practices.
- Prepare and communicate test status reports, project updates, and testing results to technical and business stakeholders.
- Document and support the development of test scenarios, test cases, and execution activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Contribute to continuous process improvements by recommending enhancements to QA methodologies and testing practices. SCDHHS

- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may substitute for formal education.
- 3+ years of experience translating business requirements or policy documentation into detailed test cases and testing scenarios.
- 3+ years of experience building and executing test cases within enterprise testing environments.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience testing IBM Curam applications.
- Experience developing test plans, QA processes, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) documentation.
- Strong experience with manual testing, defect management, regression testing, and functional testing.
- Ability to communicate testing status, defects, risks, and issue resolution effectively to development teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 5+ years of experience supporting large enterprise or e-business applications.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, preferably Medicaid.
- Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience working in both Waterfall (SDLC) and Agile software development environments.
- Technical and/or Project Management certifications are desirable.
- Prior experience with public sector or government healthcare projects is a plus
