- Perform routine tests on materials, goods in process, and finished goods against company quality standards
- Report test results to line mechanics or supervisors for analysis and corrective action
- Conduct visual inspections for obvious defects
- Perform detailed visual inspections when quality limits are unclear
- Remove defective products and return acceptable products to the production line
- Notify line supervisors when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or major quality incidents occur
- Record inspection results and defect counts on forms and charts
- Post and maintain inspection data, quality levels, and special quality study records
- Recommend disposition of questionable products to supervisors
- Lead blitz/team activities and maintain action items
- Lead quality assurance projects and teams
- Perform manufacturing and/or laboratory audits and reviews
- Maintain facility quality records when acting as quality control department clerk
- Collect scrap and tested product samples from quality control inspection stations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred
- Strong knowledge of Quality processes, procedures, and tools, including SPC, Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis
- Familiarity with ISO requirements
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing
- Communication and leadership abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to initiate change and continuous improvement
- Ability to achieve goals and results
Ability to work well with cross-functional teams - Ability to facilitate blitzes and meetings
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Demonstrates expertise in Quality Processes and Procedures, including SPC, Six Sigma, and Statistical Analysis, while effectively leading quality assurance projects and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and achieve organizational goals.
