Job DescriptionHitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Incoming Inspector who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Batesburg, SC. The Incoming Inspector performs foundational inspection activities to verify that incoming materials meet required specifications. This role focuses on accurate measurement, documentation, and communication of nonconformances conducting functional tests purchased materials, using measuring tools (calipers, gauges), and documenting defects.
Accountabilities- Perform visual, mechanical, and dimensional inspections of incoming materials as well printed circuit boards
- Document inspection results, defects, and nonconformities
- Assist in inspection of containment
- Assist production groups with inspection of materials
- Verify supplier documentation, including certificates of conformity and measurement reports
- Use precise measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
- Perform transaction within SAP for incoming inspection
- Must have the ability to:
- Successfully complete IPC 610/620 Certification
- Lift, stand, walk, and work on concrete surfaces for extended periods of time
- Lift or lower items weighing < 24lbs (10.9kg) and Push or Pull efforts < 42lbs (19kg)
- 2-3 years of experience incoming inspection, electronic assemblies, or mechanical assemblies
- Strong communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications and experience with SAP software
Associate's degree in Engineering or equivalent military/technical training
EducationHigh school diploma or GED equivalent
LanguageEnglish proficiency
