Description: Our client is currently seeking a QUALITY ASSURANCE Manager in SC.
Quality Assurance Manager Position SummaryThe Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for leading all food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance initiatives within a food manufacturing environment. This position oversees quality personnel, drives continuous improvement programs, and ensures products meet customer, regulatory, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the Quality team, including QA Supervisors, QA Coordinators, and QA Technicians, while fostering a culture of food safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Manage HACCP, SQF, GMP, SSOP, sanitation, environmental monitoring, and audit programs to ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Investigate customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, review quality metrics and microbiological data, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Serve as the facility's Food Safety and Quality leader, maintaining HACCP, SQF, and process control programs.
- Monitor product compliance through inspections, trend analysis, AQL review, hold/release decisions, and validation of food safety systems.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, customer requests, and quality documentation updates.
- Minimum 5 years of quality assurance or food safety leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMPs, SSOPs, regulatory compliance, and food safety systems.
- Proven leadership experience managing supervisors and hourly quality personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
- HACCP Certification required or obtained shortly after hire.
- SQF Practitioner certification and audit experience preferred.
- USDA Experience.
