Laboratory Instrument & Operations Join Cmbio and Support Metabolomics Projects through Hands‑on Laboratory operations

For our laboratory in Vedbæk, Denmark, we are seeking a Laboratory Instrument & Operations Technician with strong technical skills in maintenance and troubleshooting of analytical instruments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily instrument maintenance and troubleshooting to secure high uptime and data quality.
  • Support instrument qualification activities and help ensure instruments remain in a qualified state.
  • Carry out equipment maintenance, basic repairs, and coordination of service visits when needed.
  • Handle sample management, including receipt, registration, storage, and internal logistics.
  • Contribute to laboratory management tasks, such as ordering consumables, monitoring inventories, and maintaining a well‑organized lab environment.
  • Support scientists in project execution and method development through instrument setup, sequence preparation, and test runs.
  • Support standardization and automation of laboratory workflows.

Instruments you may work with include LC–Orbitrap MS systems (Thermo), Bruker TIMS TOF instruments and GC‑MS platforms from Agilent and LECO.

Required Qualifications
  • Technical education as a laboratory technician, instrument technician, engineer, or similar.
  • Hands‑on experience with maintenance and operation of analytical instruments, ideally including LC‑MS and/or GC‑MS.
  • Strong practical troubleshooting skills and a systematic approach to fault finding.
  • Comfortable working with technical documentation, logs, and maintenance records.
  • Full professional proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Thermo Orbitrap LC‑MS, Agilent or LECO GC‑MS, and/or Bruker TIMS TOF instruments.
  • Experience working in a quality‑controlled or regulated laboratory environment (e.g., GLP, ISO 17025, or similar).
  • Familiarity with instrument qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Previous experience in a service, support, or core facility setting.
Personal Attributes
  • Technically curious, structured, and solution‑oriented.
  • Able to work independently and take ownership of instrument performance and lab infrastructure.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills with scientists, technicians, and external service engineers.
  • Reliable, proactive, and comfortable handling multiple tasks in parallel.
