Postdoctoral Fellow
The Wood Lab in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology & Neuroscience is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to support NIH-funded research examining neuro-immune basis of gestational psychosocial stress-induced behavioral and cardiovascular vulnerability. Under limited supervision, the Postdoctoral Fellow will perform experiments using cutting-edge techniques to study how these systems. The individual will demonstrate commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.
This position is established in support of expanded research activities.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• The individual must be highly motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a dynamic team.
• Experience handling rodents (rats and/or mice), experience with rodent behavioral analyses, tissue dissection, and knowledge of rodent mating is critical.
• Excellent English speaking/writing skills required. Experience in writing and securing local and federal grants, and experience of program development, implementation, and evaluation.
• Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies procedures and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
• The demonstrated ability to write research manuscripts, grants and train undergraduates in the lab is desired.
