Job Summary
The South Carolina Department of Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior and Smart State Center for Healthcare Quality (CHQ) at University of South Carolina (USC) Arnold School of Public Health invites applications for two Statistical/ Research Analyst positions to participate in funded HIV and relevant research. These projects involve the utilization of multiple types of Big Data and advanced statistical methods in studying a variety of issues related to HIV and other health conditions, including but not limited to, community resilience, racial/ethnic disparities of HIV care continuum outcomes, transition of pediatric-to-adult HIV care, HIV associated comorbidities, aging, synthetic data generation.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in analyzing various data, including but not limited to electronic health records data, public health surveillance data, public health program implementation data, behavioral intervention and data from diverse sources
- Proficiency in statistical and computational languages (SQL, SAAS, R, Python, etc.), skills
- Knowledge of both traditional statistical analysis (e.g., logistic regression, Cox proportional regression model, Poisson regression model) and Big Data analytics (e.g., machine learning, artificial intelligence [AI], text mining, generative AI)
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, high standard of work ethic, effective oral and written communication skills.
