You will join an experimental unit dedicated to aquaculture systems, composed of technical and scientific staff working in close collaboration. The team conducts experiments on farmed fish to produce knowledge useful for research and the evolution of aquaculture practices, in respect of animal welfare and current regulations. The mission is part of multidisciplinary research programs covering the entire life cycle of freshwater salmonids, from reproduction to the final product.

These works aim to better understand the physiology of fish, their nutrition, their genetics, and their defense mechanisms against diseases. This position plays an essential role in the success of the experiments conducted on site. Through your Zootechnical expertise and your daily presence with the animals, you will directly contribute to the quality of the data produced and the smooth running of scientific projects, while ensuring respect for animal welfare and experimental protocols.

In this context, you will be in charge of the following activities:
Zootechnics and Aquaculture
- Ensure daily maintenance and care of farmed fish
- Carry out the Zootechnical follow-up of trout, including weighing, transfers between tanks, calculation and distribution of food rations
- Follow the processes of reproduction and selection of fish
- Apply the regulations and procedures specific to aquaculture support for experiments and data management
- Participate in measurement and slaughter operations in support of scientific teams
- Assist experimenters during different experimental operations
- Collect, pre-analyze and record fish farming data, notably through dedicated software and registers Maintenance of installations, structures, tanks, and aquaculture tools
- Ensure the proper functioning of experimental facilities

You will work in experimental buildings housing farmed animals, mainly rainbow trout and brown trout. On-call duties are expected, approximately six weeks per year.

You have a degree in aquaculture, zootechnics, or aquaculture farming, and have basic knowledge of the functioning of a fish farm and aquaculture systems, particularly for salmonids. Previous experience in aquaculture farming or in an experimental environment would be appreciated. Know-how:

- Ensure the Zootechnical and sanitary follow-up of farmed fish
- Apply aquaculture protocols and current regulations
- Use software specific to the activity and keep an aquaculture register
- Collect and organize technical and experimental data Know-how:
