Dietary Aide
The Dietary Aide will support meal services for residents at a 132‑bed skilled nursing and rehab facility in Downtown Columbia, South Carolina.
Responsibilities- Assist with meal preparation and tray assembly.
- Serve meals with a friendly smile.
- Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and organized.
- Wash dishes and sanitize equipment.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Work alongside the team to provide exceptional resident care.
- Learn food‑service routines quickly.
- Set up meal trays and strip down returned trays for washing.
- Assist with serving meals.
- Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the start of the shift.
- Observe water temperatures during dishwashing cycles.
- Operate the dishwasher.
- Prepare nourishments and snacks.
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors.
- Carry out trash and garbage removal.
- Store and organize groceries in a safe and orderly manner.
- Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary, and assist as needed by the cook or dietary supervisor.
- Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
- Work cooperatively and harmoniously with personnel in all departments.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Team player who enjoys helping others.
- Dependable and punctual.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
- Prior dietary or food‑service experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read technical procedures and recipes.
- Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
- Ability to apply math concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
- Must obtain and maintain a food handler's certificate.
- No supervisory responsibilities for this position.
- $15 per hour.

Standing and/or walking frequently; sitting occasionally; reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional kneeling, stooping, and crawling. Requires good visual and auditory perception.
