Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively through teaching, training, and active listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Tourto Teach communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, merchandising, company direction, introducing and leading company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives such as community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high‑quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing and assisting in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses in the designated business area to confirm they are indexed to sales, monitoring and ensuring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, operational processes, and developing and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing associate recognition, communicating expectations consistently and effectively, promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace, and recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.

Coordinates, completes, and oversees job‑related activities and assignments by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, identifying and communicating goals and objectives, building accountability, measuring progress, identifying improvement opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.

Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission values and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing action plans, supporting the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on applying these principles in executing business processes and practices.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop teams through training, coaching, and active listening.
  • Collaborate with all associate levels on store operations, technology, merchandising, and company initiatives.
  • Translate business objectives into guidance for implementation.
  • Model highest customer service standards following OBW; manage community outreach and customer issue resolution.
  • Drive financial performance: review P&L, budgeting, forecasting, expense control, merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and shrink prevention.
  • Supervise hourly associates: hire, train, mentor, assign duties, set expectations, recognize performance, and foster a culture of belonging.
  • Coordinate activities with stakeholders, set goals, manage progress, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with policies, the Open Door Policy, and ethical standards.
  • Implement corporate values: respect, integrity, serve customers, and strive for excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition and have state‑specific requirements: a current state‑issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
