Trade Specialist – Greenville, SC (Remote/Field Based)
The Trade Specialist works as part of our Commercial Construction field sales team, operating as a virtual employee in your assigned territory. You will drive top-line sales for a portfolio of brand names, including DEWALT®, STANLEY®, and others, while fostering strong relationships with end‑user partners and key accounts.
Responsibilities- Achieve sales targets set by division and local market objectives by selling a wide range of construction products.
- Develop, maintain, and manage key relationships with end‑user partners, including trade associations, safety personnel, engineers, quality managers, general managers, line supervisors, and purchasing officers.
- Mentor and coach the local market team on end‑user development processes and purchasing strategies.
- Collaborate with Channel Marketing to implement and coordinate marketing initiatives.
- Use as a CRM and planning tool to track activities and opportunities.
- Communicate successes and challenges promptly to refine processes and drive future success with key accounts.
- Manage CORE and SBD user contracts and programs, ensuring alignment with local teams and service centers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Marketing, or related fields preferred; relevant construction field experience may substitute for higher education.
- 3+ years of sales or marketing experience in construction supplies, with a proven track record of delivering results.
- Experience selling to high-level executives, C‑Suite, and job‑site directors is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
- Valid driver’s license and physical ability to travel up to 50% within your territory assignment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
The total target cash compensation range for this position is $84,000.00 – $, which may vary by factors such as job level, location, and experience. The role includes a base salary and target variable cash compensation and is eligible for a sales incentive plan or commission.
