Summary / ObjectiveThe Business Development Representative supports the firm's growth by building and maintaining referral relationships with real estate agents, lenders, and builders, representing Blair Cato in the community, and driving new business opportunities through consistent outreach, networking, and strategic collaboration.
This role serves as a key external ambassador for the firm
. The Business Development Coordinator is responsible for generating leads, nurturing referral partner relationships, managing the sales pipeline, and representing Blair Cato at industry events and in the community
.
This role works closely with attorneys and the marketing team to align business development efforts with firm-wide goals
, consistently tracking progress toward pipeline and sales objectives.
This position is an exempt, relationship-driven role that requires strong communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to represent the firm's brand professionally across the community.

Referral Relationship Management- Conduct regular in-person meetings with real estate agents, lenders, and builders to build and maintain referral relationships.
- Maintain consistent weekly touchpoints through calls, texts, emails, social media, and follow-ups.
- Perform office drop-ins at real estate offices to strengthen partnerships and distribute marketing materials.
- Attend networking events such as broker open houses, board meetings, association events, and industry gatherings.
- Manage RSVPs, invitations, and pre-event research for Blair Cato-hosted functions.
- Represent the firm's brand with professionalism in all in-person and online interactions.
- Maintain and update the CRM system daily, tracking all activities, interactions, and pipeline movement.
- Track progress toward weekly, monthly, and firm-wide sales goals and adjust strategies as needed.
- Engage professionally with industry contacts through Linked In, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Collaborate with attorneys and the marketing team to maximize business opportunities.
- Participate in monthly performance reviews and ongoing sales training or development activities.

Combination of office environment and frequent fieldwork at partner offices, industry events, and community functions.
Physical DemandsMay lift up to 20 lbs. Requires regular local travel, including standing and walking at events and office visits.
Travel RequiredFrequent local and regional travel required to visit referral partners, attend industry events, and represent the firm across Blair Cato's South Carolina offices. Some evening or weekend travel should be expected for hosted or industry events.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing
- Strong verbal and written communication and client relationship skills
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Prior experience working with referral-based or relationship-driven sales models
