Brown & Brown is seeking a Property Casualty Advisor to join our growing team in Columbia, SC! Individual whose primary responsibilities are in the sales and renewal of business, who receive commissions in addition to a regular salary and who may, or may not, be defined as “producer”.

Decision-making and discretion are utilized in the process of acquiring and renewing accounts.

How You Will Contribute:
  • Assist applicable departments in daily transactions and gain knowledge of their process.
  • Spend approximately 50-60% of the time outside with customers and new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for the development and successful acquisition of new business revenue from new and existing clients.
  • Prospect sectors or market areas by identifying business needs and proposing company products and services.
  • Obtain prospects and actively pursue and create interest by making telephone calls, writing letters, or through personal visits.
  • Maintain currency and further develop expertise in declared sector or market area by networking and participating in professional development activities.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and sales experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional telephone demeanor.
  • This position requires routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle.
  • Acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
