As a Youth Facility Security Officer in Columbia, SC
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:
  • Tue: 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM
  • Sat: 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM
  • Sun: 05:45 PM - 06:00 AM
What You’ll Do:
  • Provide customer service by carrying out site‑specific procedures, access control protocols, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification and authorization, and help deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner while documenting relevant security‑related activity.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas, noting unusual conditions and reporting concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support visitor processing, maintain access logs and/or related records, and communicate professionally with staff, contractors, and members of the public regarding site rules and procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
  • A current DPSS/DHS tuberculosis test and MMR vaccinations are required.
  • At least 6 months of security‑related experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
