Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Armed - Healthcare Site in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an Armed Security Officer at a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
This driving post requires a valid driver’s license and armed credentials. Deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while embodying Allied Universal's agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-focused, and integrity-driven culture.

- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or contractors by carrying out armed security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and escalating concerns as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, restricted-area access, and staff escorts in accordance with site-specific requirements.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
- A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Have at least 1 year of experience as an armed security professional, in law enforcement, or in the military.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Be able to lift up to 20 pounds, preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
