The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the maintenance of all interior and exterior mall property, including building structures, systems and equipment. This position is based in Wellington, FL.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communicate information and instructions with management, tenants and invitees.
  • Handle all mall promotions including staging, curtains, chairs and sound systems.
  • Assist other departments in setup of events when needed.
  • Operate mall maintenance equipment.
  • Monitor required meters and gauges.
  • Wear and maintain uniform.
  • Painting of interior/exterior as needed.
  • Maintain all doors in good working order.
  • Maintain all fountains and pools.
  • Replace light bulbs and fixtures.
  • Sign repair or replacement.
  • Minor curb and parking lot repairs.
  • Clean roof area.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs.
  • Pick up litter and debris as necessary.
  • Perform other tasks from time to time as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Standing up to 8 hours a day.
  • Walking up to 8 hours a day.
  • Working outdoors for 8 hours a day.
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine.
  • Ability to stoop, stand, climb, and frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Able to speak clearly so others can understand you.
  • Demonstrate general knowledge and skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and small engine maintenance and repair.
  • Demonstrate skills and knowledge of all types of power tools.
  • Ability to safely operate fork and aerial lifts.
  • Detail oriented, with the able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work on roofs.
  • May be exposed to inclement weather and excessive noise.
  • Must be able to work in close and cramped spaces including attics, basements, various crawl spaces and areas with low light or no light at all.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be a professional with demonstrated experience in the role or a similar role.

Qualifications:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • Minimum 2-3 years building maintenance experience performing some carpentry, HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions.
  • Fundamental mechanical, plumbing and electrical knowledge plus experience.
  • Understanding of commercial self-contained rooftop A/C units.
  • Basic computer skills including proficient use of email and work order systems.
  • Read, write and communicate English at acceptable level.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Acceptable background check.
