Position: Field Electronics Technician (Nuclear)
Location: Manning

Field Electronics Technician – Outage

This travel position involves outage work at various plants, plant updates, and may include international travel.

Your Day‑to‑Day
  • Perform work of equal or lower skill level as required. Perform a variety of electro‑mechanical projects and assignments, following established procedures under the supervision of higher‑classified technicians and professionals.
  • Develop an awareness of ALARA principles, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements.
  • Complete basic and introductory training on all equipment, machines, and procedures required in the Machinist Electronics Technician Levels 1 & 2 criteria certification.
  • Perform quality work during the fabrication, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment as defined in the work standard for the job.
  • Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, inspect, repair, basic mechanical, electrical, welding, and hydraulic equipment. Work areas are often confined, and under poor conditions.
  • Exercise skill and proficiency in the use of basic hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical equipment.
  • Via training or demonstration of existing skills, operate machine tools, electrical test equipment, welding equipment, and measuring devices in the fabrication, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and maintenance of tools and equipment to the level of proficiency required in the Electronics Technician Levels 1 & 2 Criteria of Certification.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, drawings, and blueprints. Record data in required form.
  • Perform service responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping practices in work areas.
  • Qualifications
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
    • 2 years post‑high‑school degree or diploma or military training in electrical or electronics.
    • 3+ years of electronics experience troubleshooting & repair.
    • Travel required.
    • Commitment to safety.
    • Physical requirements:

      lift 50–60 lb.
    • Work 12‑hour schedule on nights or days as assigned.
    • Periodically work 6–7 days per week on site assignments.
    Additional Information

    Safety in all activities is a priority. The base salary range for this position is estimated to be $32 / hour to $42 / hour. Code: RT. Code: NW.
