Overview
Join a dynamic team at a leading manufacturing equipment supplier, as a Service Technician. The Service Technician is primarily responsible for training, installing, servicing, rebuilding and consulting on all poultry processing equipment and overhead lines.
Responsibilities- Achieves expected productivity levels associated with assigned workload and level of experience. Demonstrates technical expertise and provides specialist services.
- Performs a full range of servicing and repair service procedures including diagnostics, installation, removal, and retrofits on a core set of equipment.
- Interacts with external customers for the purpose of determining service needs on equipment and ensuring overall high level of customer satisfaction with the service performed.
- Serves as a role model and exhibits professional appearance and behavior at all times, under the most difficult situations.
- Completes all required administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assists on training new hires and customer maintenance personnel.
- Acts as a liaison between the customer, plant personnel, contractors on the job, and management by keeping good communications (verbal and written) among the groups.
- Works closely with sales partners to maximize equipment leads and upgrade opportunities.
- Proactively seeks ways to improve things, recommends machine improvement ideas and suggestions for continuous product improvement.
- Assists Site Manager with planning installs and rebuilds.
- Works with customer support on adjustment manuals and updating trouble‑shooting guides.
- Observes all safety, quality, and other company rules and regulations in the performance of duties.
- Promotes teamwork by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other members of the department during peak periods or when there is an overload of duties.
- 2-year technical degree preferred
- At least 3 years technical experience in the poultry industry with poultry equipment 4 years of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing experience.
- Skills:
- Proven leadership skills as a maintenance supervisor or lead technician
- Must possess mechanical capabilities (welding, grinding, cutting, installing) and electrical capabilities (calibrating PLCs, weighing systems, wiring of any circuits)
- Ability to lead and train
- Excellent communication and customer relation skills to professionally interact with customers, and all levels of management
- Must be safety conscientious
- Ability to speak and understand Spanish is preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Must have flexible schedule, with a work week of Friday to Tuesday
Must be able to travel at any time for long periods of time.
Salary & Benefits- Starting at $60k – 65k / Year
- $75 per diem
- Company vehicle, uniforms, safety boots, and tools provided.
