Job Responsibilities
Performs manual labor assisting with the installation and repair of drainage features such as catch basins, pipe, signs, etc.
Serves as flagger to safely direct traffic through work zones. Assists with placement of traffic control devices for work zones.
Operates dump trucks, hauling materials to and from job sites.
Operates small equipment, power and hand tools performing various maintenance tasks.
Removes litter, debris, and dead animals from roadways.
Assists in emergency and inclement weather operations may include extended hours and/or working 12-hour shifts.
Minimum and Additional RequirementsThere are no minimum training or experience requirements for this classification. Necessary Special Requirement: A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required. Requires attainment of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within six (6) months of placement in the position. The physical demands for the essential functions involves bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and grasping. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal scheduled work week; especially during inclement weather.
