** A Brief Overview
** The Senior Maintenance Mechanic utilizes specialized skills to perform maintenance and repair of various buildings and equipment at Tidelands Health facilities. Specialized areas of primary assignment will vary depending on organizational need and employee expertise but generally could include primary assignment in one or more of these specialty areas: general maintenance, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, steam fitting, communications, refrigeration, carpentry/painting, electronics, refrigeration, mechanical repair.

Will be acknowledged as main point of contact in the event the Director or Assistant Director is off site. Due to taking care of multiple facilities, the Maintenance Mechanic must have a valid SC driver's license with no more than two minor violations or one major and one minor, and no DUI or reckless driving in the past three years.

The employee may have access to areas where medications are stored, and job functions may include working around medications during the maintenance and upkeep processes of certain equipment. If these job functions are required, the employee will receive competency training specifically on this item. The employees' work schedule can be flexible to meet changing work situations which would include but not be limited to hurricanes, ice storms, power outages and various other types of disasters.

The Senior Maintenance Mechanic will be required to take call in rotation with other mechanics at the discretion of the Leaders. Working overtime and weekends will be required as needed by leaders.

** What you will do
*** Complete room Inspections (Assigned) per departmental standards
* Ensure quality of work per agreed upon standards
* Complete Preventative Maintenance Program per departmental protocol
* Complete Work Order Program per agreed upon standards
* Main point of contact in the event the Director or Assistant Director is off site.  
** Education Qualifications
*** High School Diploma May substitute (3) additional years of specialized experience for a total of (7) seven years’ experience for the required education. Required or
* Certificate from Trade or technical school or Related formal apprenticeship or other documented education in a maintenance mechanic related trades such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, General maintenance, carpentry/painting, electronics, refrigeration, mechanical repair Required  
** Experience Qualifications
*** A minimum of (4) four years recent experience in at least one specialized skilled maintenance area such as HVAC, electrical, communications systems, general maintenance, Plumbing, steam fitting, refrigeration, carpentry/painting, electronics, mechanical repair.

* Skills and Abilities

*** Ability to communicate with employees and the public.
* Ability to complete job assignments with little supervision and numerous interruptions.
* Ability to perform many physical tasks that would include walking, climbing, lifting and stopping and other physical activities.
* Ability to read and interpret technical instruction documents.
* Good mathematical skills.
* Handle occasional pressure due to multiple calls and inquires.
