Plumbing Service Technician

Jake's, Inc., a Rockford, IL-based leader in custom metal fabrication and machining, seeks a Plumbing Service Technician to support industrial customers. In this hands-on role, you'll install, troubleshoot, and repair process piping, pumps, valves, and related systems for custom equipment and turnkey projects. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing preventative maintenance, and working closely with fabrication and field teams. You'll help solve complex problems on-site while upholding strict safety and quality standards in a supportive, team-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial plumbing systems and equipment at customer sites
• Install and modify piping, valves, pumps, and related components for custom industrial projects
• Read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings to complete plumbing layouts
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime and ensure reliability
• Collaborate with fabrication, machining, and field service teams on turnkey solutions
• Follow safety procedures, codes, and company standards on all jobs
• Document work performed, parts used, and recommendations for customers and internal teams
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain issues, options, and solutions
