HVAC Senior Service Technician

Jake's, Inc., a precision metal fabrication and machining leader in Rockford, IL, seeks an HVAC Senior Service Technician to support industrial clients. In this role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex HVAC and mechanical systems, perform diagnostics, and lead start-ups on industrial equipment. You'll mentor junior technicians, ensure safety and code compliance, and document work clearly for customers. Work closely with engineering and fabrication teams on custom solutions while representing Jake's, Inc.

with professionalism, craftsmanship, and responsive field service.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial HVAC and mechanical systems at customer sites
• Perform advanced diagnostics on controls, electrical, and refrigeration components
• Lead commissioning and startup of new or modified HVAC and process equipment
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance and document findings and repairs
• Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams on custom industrial solutions
• Mentor and support junior technicians, promoting safe and efficient work practices
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company procedures
• Communicate clearly with customers on issues, options, and recommendations
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and parts usage
• Support on-call or emergency service needs as required by customers
