Maintenance Technician Job Description

Experience: Mid Level

Salary: $30 - $38 per hour

Job Details

We are seeking an experienced General Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance and reliability of production machinery, facility equipment, new equipment, and other plant systems.

This individual will be responsible for performing preventative, proactive, and emergency maintenance while troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying opportunities to reduce downtime. The ideal candidate brings strong industrial electrical experience, PLC diagnostic capabilities, and hands-on experience maintaining manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and machinery
  • Diagnose the root causes of recurring equipment problems and implement solutions to reduce downtime
  • Perform preventative and proactive maintenance on plant equipment
  • Respond to emergency maintenance needs as required
  • Support the production department with equipment-related issues
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance projects
  • Submit requisitions for materials, parts, and supplies needed for maintenance projects
  • Identify opportunities to improve plant equipment, maintenance processes, and overall productivity
  • Recommend improvements to existing maintenance programs and systems
  • Ensure equipment operates safely and in compliance with OSHA requirements
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe maintenance shop, tool crib, and related work areas
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Work overtime and/or off-shift hours when necessary
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing/industrial plant
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong industrial electrical background
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining stamping presses and welding equipment
  • Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics
  • Hands‑on mechanical maintenance experience
  • Hydraulic maintenance experience preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Safety-conscious approach with knowledge of OSHA requirements
  • High‑energy, positive, hands‑on approach to maintenance and problem solving
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on industrial maintenance professional who is comfortable troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and automated equipment. Someone who enjoys finding the root cause of recurring problems—not simply fixing the immediate issue—and who can work closely with production to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

If you're an experienced maintenance technician looking for a long‑term opportunity where your technical expertise can directly impact plant productivity and reliability, we'd like to hear from you.
