The Electrical Supervisor leads all electrical and controls systems installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting for the mill. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of MCCs, PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, scanners, and automation systems critical to sawmill production. During startup, this leader will help build systems, teams, and standards from the ground up.

- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of all electrical and automation systems.
- Work directly with OEMs (e.g., Comact, 3-ph motor suppliers, electricians) to ensure proper integration.
- Validate PLC logic, safety circuits, VFD settings, motor rotations, and interlocks before startup.
- Develop electrical SOPs, lockout/tagout procedures, and reliability standards from day one.
- Lead electrical troubleshooting for motors, drives, PLC issues, sensors, scanners, optimization systems, power distribution, and instrumentation.
- Build and manage a preventive and predictive maintenance program for electrical assets.
- Ensure maximum uptime by investigating chronic failures and implementing long‑term solutions.
- Maintain clean and accurate electrical drawings, schematics, and controls documentation.
- Supervise, train, and develop a team of industrial electricians and E&I techs.
- Schedule electrical maintenance work and coordinate with production, mechanical, and operations teams.
- Set clear expectations around safety, housekeeping, and reliability.
- Enforce electrical safety standards including NFPA 70E, arc‑flash boundaries, and proper PPE.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, environmental rules, and mill safety policies.

- Identify opportunities to enhance electrical system performance, energy use, and reliability.
