Job Description

This entry-level Cable Technician role offers a hands-on opportunity to work within a data center environment, supporting the installation and routing of low-voltage cabling and equipment. The position is ideal for someone who is capable to stand and lift 50+lbs, highly dependable, and eager to learn, with previous experience in physically demanding work such as construction, trades, military, or similar. You will work closely with experienced technicians, developing your technical skills while contributing to critical infrastructure projects in varying outdoor conditions over extended shifts.

Responsibilities

+ Pull and route cabling throughout the data centre in accordance with installation standards and safety guidelines.

+ Support low-voltage cable pulling activities, ensuring cables are organised, secured and labelled correctly.

+ Assemble, stack and drill equipment racks as directed by experienced technicians.

+ Scan, label and port equipment to ensure accurate identification and documentation of all installed components.

+ Assist with general installation tasks, including basic tool use and material handling, under the guidance of experienced technicians.

+ Work safely on ladders and scissor lifts for extended periods during 10-hour shifts.

+ Follow all site safety protocols, including the proper use of PPE and adherence to construction and data centre safety procedures.

+ Maintain a high level of attention to detail when labelling, routing and securing cables and equipment.

+ Demonstrate consistent reliability in attendance and punctuality to support project schedules.

+ Participate in required safety and onboarding training prior to starting work on site.

Essential Skills

+ Proven experience working in physically demanding environments, such as construction, trades, general labour, military, or similar hands-on roles.

+ Comfort working on ladders and lifts throughout 10-hour shifts.

+ Ability to work 10-hour days outside in both hot and cold weather conditions.

+ Strong work ethic and positive, team-oriented attitude.

+ Reliable attendance history and commitment to consistent punctuality.

+ Attention to detail when handling cabling, labelling and equipment installation.

+ Safety mindset with willingness to follow all site safety rules and PPE requirements.

+ Comfort using basic hand tools and working hands-on with equipment on a daily basis.

+ Ability to support low-voltage cabling and cable pulling tasks in a data centre environment.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Hands-on electrical or military experience is highly valued.

+ Experience in construction or trades is strongly preferred and may receive priority consideration.

+ OSHA 10 certification (required prior to working on site; can be obtained at the candidate's expense if not already held).

+ Experience using scissor lifts and working at height in a safe manner.

+ General labour backgrd with familiarity with construction or industrial safety practices.

+ Strong desire to grow with an organisation, take on responsibility and develop into future leadership roles.

+ Honest, reliable personality with a long-term mindset and interest in building a career.

+ Willingness to complete required onboarding and safety orientations prior to site access, including partner onboarding and construction safety orientation.
