IPV Advocate
Key responsibilities and mission:
Provide evidence‑based, confidential advocacy and resource coordination for primary and secondary student survivors of interpersonal violence, including sexual assault, gender‑based and intimate partner violence, stalking, and harassment.
- Serve on an on‑call team answering the 24/7 hotline during designated business and after‑hours shifts.
- Deliver confidential, empowerment‑based, trauma‑informed advocacy services to survivors of interpersonal violence.
- Act as liaison between survivors and campus/community partners, coordinating resources such as emergency housing, food, clothing, transportation, and other assistance.
- Maintain accurate data compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in regular professional development opportunities offered at campus, state, and national levels.
- Bachelor’s degree in health promotion/education, public health, social work, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - Experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence.
- Preferred experience in a college/university setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and ethical leadership skills.
- Pending graduates eligible if they receive their degree by start date.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local policies, laws, and Title IX requirements relevant to campus environments.
- Strong research, multi‑tasking, and problem‑solving abilities with a solutions‑focused approach.
- Discretion and sound judgment in handling sensitive situations.
- Ability to prioritize work and maintain productivity under competing demands.
