Male Resident Advisor

Responsibilities of the Male Dorm Resident Advisor:

  • Provides immediate residential life oversight and guidance in matters pertaining to health and safety, discipline, and personal-social problems. Provides a nurturing and safe environment in the residence halls. Monitors activities and whereabouts of residences. Administers medications. Completes all residential reports, plans, records, and incident reports for the residence hall.
  • Collects, maintains, and disseminates student data on student success, absenteeism, and discipline. Communicates in a regular and timely manner with the department supervisors concerning incidents, problems, and progress.
  • Participates in training, meetings, committees, programs, meets regularly with supervisors, and participates in training and professional development.
  • Reviews the conditions of residential life facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Reviews and follows agency policy to ensure student safety. Collaborates with campus units to ensure compliance with and with external regulations and laws, including but not limited to DHEC regulations, fire code regulations, and attendance regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Full-time Male Resident Advisor vacancy for  School Year:

Sunday- 4:00pm-12:00am

Monday-7:00am-8:00am & 4:00pm-12:00am

Tuesday-7:00am-8:00am & 4:00pm-12:00am

Wednesday-7:00am-8:00am & 4:00pm-12:00am

Thursday-7:00am-8:00am & 4:00pm-12:00am

Friday-7:00am-8:00am

Minimum and

Additional Requirements:

  • A high school diploma, prior experience working with adolescents.
  • A valid driver's license.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to hear, speak audibly, talk.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and drive state vehicles.
  • Must be able to work variable hours and weekends.
  • Employee may be required to live in residence on days they work.
  • Blood Borne Pathogens, First Aid/CPR/AED training, and other training required as required, but not limited to Vector Training, and Mandatory Reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree. Residential life, student services, or boarding school experience highly desired.
