Gamecock Recovery Coordinator
The Gamecock Recovery Coordinator promotes a healthy environment and lifestyle for students in recovery from substance use disorders by providing tools and support for academic success, professional development, and campus and community support. The role plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates educational, social, and service opportunities that connect students in recovery to each other and the USC experience as well as educates students, faculty, and staff about recovery.
In addition, this position provides direct support to individual students, including screening and brief intervention, creating recovery support plans as appropriate, and connecting students to a referral network of campus and community resources.
- Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate appropriate support programs for students in recovery which connect them to each other and the USC experience, including managing and operating the recovery center space.
- STIR (Students Taking Initiative and Responsibility) and Recovery Coaching.
- Provide direct support to individual students in recovery, including screening and brief intervention, and create recovery support plans as appropriate.
- Develop workshops and training to educate students, faculty, and staff about recovery from substance use disorders, including the Recovery Ally program.
- Recruit, train, and supervise graduate assistants, peer leaders, and student recovery coaches; coordinate training and ongoing professional development.
- Cultivate a referral network of campus and community resources related to addiction and recovery, representing Gamecock Recovery to campus, community, regional, and national organizations.

Applicant must meet the minimum requirements for the position.
Preferred Qualifications- Masters degree in Social Work, Education, Psychology, or related field.
- Familiarity with various pathways to recovery and a recovery-oriented continuum of care.
- Experience in recovery support, student support, or wellness coaching.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Pending graduates eligible if candidate receives degree by date of employment.
