Job Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Young Offender Institutional Services (YOIS) Program Coordinator I, this position will plan and facilitate all individualized rehabilitative counseling services, including orientation and assessment, conduct individual, group, and family sessions to support rehabilitative and reentry goals, monitor and document offender behavior, group participation, and educational and vocational progress, maintain accurate case management records, complete assessments to identify each educational, vocational, behavioral, social, and medical need, collaborate with institutional staff, intensive supervision officers and community partners to coordinate reentry plans referrals, provide release recommendations based on observed and documented behavior and progress throughout incarceration, participate in staff meetings and complete all required trainings and professional development, perform other duties as assigned to provide support to offenders housed at other institutions.

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services programs.
SCDC Minimum Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and professional experience in human services or social services programs.
- An associate's degree in guidance, counseling, or the social sciences and 3 years professional experience in human services or social services programs.
- A high school diploma and 5 years professional experience in human services or social services programs.
