Advertised Job Summary

The Research Model Development Coordinator will work with a university team, community partners, and South Carolina Department of Social Services (SCDSS) to formalize a model, pilot testing, and evaluate a novel state-wide intervention. They will assist with the setup of data collection, monitor study data collection and maintain tracking databases, and provide task supervision to student research assistants and staff. The coordinator will work closely with Drs.

Ann Gowdy and Robert Hock to coordinate the evaluation and refinement of the project through active community engagement. We are seeking a motivated, self-directed individual with strong organizational skills, creative problem-solving skills, and program design and evaluation skills. The candidate may also have opportunities to participate in scholarly publications and clinical activities. The position is full-time with benefits (health, dental, paid leave, etc.).

Required Education and Experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field, with experience in child welfare or with transition-age youth in foster care.

• Experience with in a university system, grant management, advanced Excel skills, and program development.

• Experience conducting research and/or evaluation in community settings.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with collaborators, professionals, and foster youth.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and professional writing skills.

• High level of initiative and organizational skills – demonstrated ability to organize complex projects into workable objectives and tasks.

• Proficiency in Office 365 Suite and virtual meeting platforms. Knowledgeable about transition-age youth, foster care and/or child welfare.
