Case Manager- Columbia

Overview

Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for the preparation of child support cases for Family Court; performance of activities in the courtroom under the supervision of DSS attorneys; follow-up on these cases (including parent locate and processing of interstate cases); and providing general child support services to clients as required.

• 30% - Communications & Correspondence:
  Communicate with other units within the Office of Integrated Child Support Services and other components within the Department of Social Services; add support order data to the IVD system, and include financial information to ensure distribution of collections.
• 25% - Maintains & Evaluates:
  Maintain case records and case narratives (written and electronic) in the agency-designated system for documentation and auditing purposes; manage assigned caseload; identify problems with the child support system and participate in solutions (e.g., service of process and scheduling of cases).
• 25% - Services & Support:
  Refer appropriate non-custodial parents to the SNAP Employment and Training program; interpret child support services programs to clients, the general public, and the community as needed; provide services in accordance with agency policy and procedure.
• 20% - Prepares Cases & Interviews:
  Conduct interviews with custodial parents for paternity cases, interstate support cases, and other cases as necessary; ensure proper use, access, and disposal of personally identifiable information (PII); protect agency networks, applications, systems, equipment, and data; perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

• A high school diploma and relevant program experience.
• A bachelors degree may be submitted for the required program experience.
• This position is located in Columbia, SC.
