Positions Available in Upstate Region:
Anderson, Cherokee, Greenville, Laurens, Oconee, Pickens, Spartanburg.
The South Carolina Department of Social Services invites applicants to serve as Case Managers in our Child Welfare Services Upstate Region. Case Managers promote safety, permanency, and well‑being for children and vulnerable adults, ensuring confidentiality in line with federal and state laws.
Key Responsibilities- CPS Investigations Case Manager: assess risk, conduct interviews, develop safety plans, document case files, collaborate with providers, participate in court proceedings.
- Family Preservation Case Manager: plan and execute case management to secure safety and permanency, engage children and families, document management, prepare for court.
- Foster Care Case Manager: assess risk and manage safety for children in Department custody, engage families, document, prepare court participation.
- Permanency Case Manager: manage contacts, visitation, planning for legally free children, referrals for adoption, coordinate placements, on‑call duties.
- Additional duties may include Red Cross shelter/emergency response as directed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or Social Science.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor’s Degree in another field plus one (1) year related experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation and experience as a professional Social Worker.
- Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle access for fieldwork assignments.
