Innovations Software Developer Intern
Software development for the battery plant Unreal Engine 5 project including gameplay mechanic development, VR/AR development, 3D data pipeline development, as well as department dashboard support, database development/support, and other innovation projects decided by management. Develops and implements software solutions using Unreal Engine 5 to achieve project goals related to game mechanics, 3D data pipeline development, database connections, and networking. Participates in cross-functional project teams to support software development activities within the department.
Assists in the creation and maintenance of user and support documentation for areas of responsibility, ensuring clear communication of software functionalities. Provides technical support to department for resolving issues related to Unreal Engine 5 and other software projects. Develops and optimizes algorithms and systems for automatic control and data management within projects. Supports department targets and goals for project completion, quality assurance, and efficient resource utilization.
Understands and applies principles of Agile development and collaborative problem-solving in software projects. Adheres to coding standards and best practices. Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles. Performs other duties as assigned by management.
The qualified intern should expect to contribute to improvements in the following functions:
Conduct research and conceptualize new ideas. Support project management and coordination of plans for related projects. Coordinate and support focused, community-based events and initiatives. Collect, analyze, and interpret information to evaluate the landscape against business strategies. Stay abreast of best practices and recommend relevant initiatives for activities and actions. Provide regular input on enhancing processes and practices. Support the organization's vision, strategy, priorities, and roadmap.
Partner with stakeholders to enable successful prioritization, development, delivery, and adoption of program goals. Create PowerPoint slide decks for presentations and support preparation for meetings. Participate in project team meetings. Provide general administrative support. Schedule the use of meeting room facilities on an as-needed basis. Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned by project team members.
Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree in Computer Science (preferred), Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar degree Preferred:
Base knowledge of C/C++, problem solving, passion for software development. Optional:
Unreal Engine 5, Unity, Gadot, Software Version Control (Unity version control/Perforce) Experience leading groups of people Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major). Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States. Good organization and project management skills. Good communication and presentation skills in English and preferably German. Analytical, solution-oriented mindset.
Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application. Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week). Transfer students must have a GPA from current university. MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT. Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
