McLeod Sports Medicine has an opening for a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer. The Athletic Trainer is responsible for daily practice and game coverage including management of injuries, organization and administration, implementation of sport performance programming, and record keeping. Additionally, the Athletic Trainer will have the opportunity to provide outreach services to club, city recreation, or collegiate teams as well.

The Athletic Trainer will be part of the sports medicine team following policies and procedures and working under the direction of our medical director. McLeod Sports Medicine employs a team of 25 athletic trainers. Athletic Trainer must be able to work in a team setting and work in a progressive atmosphere.

Department Description

McLeod Sports Medicine is housed in a two-year old 25,000 square foot outpatient rehabilitation facility. Our orthopedic and sports therapy services are available for individuals with acute or chronic orthopedic and sports-related conditions. W

Work Schedule:

80 Hours Bi-weekly. Full Time. This position will be assigned to Darlington High School in Darlington, SC.

Darlington High School is a 4A sized high school (2nd biggest classification in SC high school league) with close to around 1,000 athletes. Currently basketball would be their top sport with football on the rise. Overall, they are highly competitive with most sports. They currently play in the region with South Florence, Wilson, Hartsville and others. They have a brand new baseball and softball game fields on the school campus, with a recent renovated turf field for football and soccer.

Skills Required

* Minimum of a B.S. or B.A. degree, with certification from the Board of Certification (BOC) for athletic trainers.

* Must be eligible for licensure in the state of South Carolina.

* CPR and AED certification also required.
