Join the professionals on the Transportation Team. As a team member, you will be an important part of the education process. If you are 21 years of age and have a high school diploma you can become a bus driver or monitor.
Qualifications- 21 years of age and a high school diploma
- Rigorous background investigation including a SLED check and a DMV records check
- Commercial driver's license with passenger, air brake and federal school bus endorsements (for drivers)
- Complete 20 hours of classroom instruction and pass a State Department of Education certification test
- Complete on the road training and pass a rigorous driving evaluation
- Pass a physical assessment test and be subject to random monthly drug screening
- Annually attend at least 10 hours of training to maintain proficiency
Students will rely on bus drivers and bus monitors for safe transportation.
Responsibilities include:
- Drive and safely transport students
- Monitor students on board (for monitors)
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures
- Complete required training and evaluations
