Position Summary
The Transportation Planner is responsible for executing daily transportation planning activities to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and on-time delivery of shipments from regional distribution centers to customers. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and transportation carriers to coordinate shipments, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily transportation planning activities, including scheduling, tracking, and tracing shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
• Manage and tender shipments across multiple transportation modes, including:
  Full Truckload (FTL), Less Than Truckload (LTL), Intermodal.
• Optimize transportation service levels while controlling costs.
• Collaborate with internal business partners and external transportation carriers to coordinate shipments and resolve transportation-related issues.
• Maintain strong working relationships with transportation providers to support service excellence and reliability.
• Monitor and analyze transportation costs to ensure alignment with budget objectives.
• Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly transportation performance reports, including cost, service, and tender metrics.
• Support continuous improvement efforts through data analysis and performance monitoring.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) for transportation planning and execution.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and spreadsheet management.
• Knowledge of transportation operations, shipment planning, and carrier management.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience

• Experience with Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).
• Additional experience in transportation analytics, carrier performance management, or supply chain optimization.

Education

• Bachelor s degree in Transportation, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Candidates with a High School Diploma/GED and strong relevant transportation or logistics experience will also be considered.
