We are seeking a new member to add to our Warehouse team. Our 500,000 square foot newly renovated warehouse is located in Marion, South Carolina.
Maxwood Furniture is seeking a highly motivated and organized Warehouse Operations Lead to oversee the day-to-day operations of our forklift department within our 500,000 square foot, newly renovated warehouse in Marion, South Carolina. This role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, maintaining a strong safety culture, and leading a high-performing team in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong communication and problem‑solving skills who thrives in a dynamic setting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless warehouse operations, supporting cross‑functional collaboration, and delivering on productivity and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and supervise daily operations of the forklift department, ensuring productivity and efficiency targets are met
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Coordinate and optimize warehouse processes to improve workflow, accuracy, and overall operational performance
- Train, coach, and support team members to enhance skills, performance, and engagement
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges to minimize disruptions and maintain continuity
- Partner cross‑functionally with teams such as Procurement and Logistics to support timely order fulfillment
- Implement and uphold warehouse best practices to improve quality, reduce waste, and enhance safety standards
- Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics related to forklift operations, identifying areas for improvement
- Ensure proper use, care, and maintenance of warehouse equipment and machinery
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control processes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage a team, provide clear direction, and motivate employees
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with WMS software is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or relevant certifications preferred
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions
- Forklift certification preferred
