Forklift Warehouse Operator

Position Description

Ryder is hiring Stand‑Up Forklift Operators in Columbia, South Carolina.

• Hourly Pay: $17.50 per hour
• Shift Premium: $1.00 per hour
• Weekend Shift Premium: $5.00 per hour (Saturday or Sunday)
• Schedule:
  
  Second Shift 6:00 pm – 6:00 am
• On‑call rota: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on (36 hrs one week, 48 hrs next week)

• Load, pick, pack, ship, receive, and operate forklifts.
• Perform cycle counting and maintain accurate inventory.
• Handle paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Support automated packing systems during core shift hours.
• Follow performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• Valid Forklift Operator's License.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, push or pull up to 35 lb and stand for long periods.
• Reliability, punctuality, and good attendance record.
• Availability for flexible shifting on various work shifts.
