Job Description

The Secondary Warehouse Electronic IT & Data Entry Intern will train to oversee warehouse operations, managing receiving, storage, and distribution of freight and supplies, maintaining inventory systems, ensuring equipment safety, communicating with management and employees, and upholding health, safety, and security standards.

• Plan, organize, and monitor receiving, storage, and distribution of all freight and supplies.
• Maintain and monitor inventory systems, generate reports, and plan for capacity requirements.
• Ensure equipment and tools are safe and usable, enforcing completion of inspection and condition reports.
• Assist with maintenance of machinery and stock control.
• Communicate effectively with management, distributors, suppliers, and employees.
• Train and supervise warehouse employees, coordinating various shifts and weekend work.
• Identify potential security breaches such as theft or contraband.
• Develop strong management and organizational skills, observing health, safety, and security protocols.
• Assist in budgeting, environmental standards, and fulfillment of upper‑management obligations.

• Experience in warehouse management and electronic inventory systems.
• Valid driver’s license and TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential).
• Knowledge of maritime and ship repair tools and supplies, including shipyard and vessel repair activities.
• Experience with forklift and other material handling equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with senior management.
• High level of attention to detail, organization, and structure.
• Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, email, inventory control software).
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Availability to work nights and weekends as required.
• Critical thinking, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
