This position is in Procurement – Warehouse Services in Headquarters, Blythewood, SC.
- Schedules the pick-ups and deliveries of excess property throughout the Department of Motor Vehicle divisions to coincide with a 7.5-hour workday.
- Operates a state vehicle in performance of pick-up and delivery duties.
- Responsible for filling out and filing all forms related to the Excess Property Section (property transfers, turn-in documents/TID’s) in a neat and orderly manner to ensure proper records management.
- Handles the disposal of the Agency’s excess property through State Surplus guidelines and the Agency’s guidelines.
- Responsible for processing and preparing with attention to accuracy all TID’s for the disposal of the Agency’s excess property.
- Works with State Surplus to ensure all transactions meet both their standards and the Agency’s standards.
- Works with outside contracted and non-contracted vendors to dispose of items designated on TID’s as “Junk” by State Surplus.
- Assists Records Management with pick-ups/deliveries of the Agency’s Records across Field Offices and with records needs in Headquarters.
- Receives, notifies, decales, issues, inventories, and manages all newly ordered IT equipment stored within the Warehouse under location “Warehouse IT Storage”.
- Performs other duties as required by the Warehouse Manager or the Warehouse Assistant Manager; requests for other duties may be issued orally or in writing.
- A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.
- Must have considerable knowledge of supply practices and procedures and inventory control practices and procedures.
- Ability to plan and oversee the work of others.
- Ability to establish a good working relationship with all divisions within the Agency and with other Agencies and outside vendors.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.
- Generally expected to perform duties under own discretion.
- Must be able to make independent decisions as necessary.
- Will have to work with other divisions in the agency, other state agencies and outside vendors.
- Must be able to bend, stoop and lift over 50 pounds.
- Must have basic computer knowledge.
- Must have a valid S.C. Driver's License and ability to drive 12 ft. to 22 ft. trucks and forklift/order picker.
- Employee work hours may include overtime work and limited overnight travel.
- Authorized to operate powered industrial trucks (heavy machinery) such as forklifts, order pickers and electric pallet jacks.
- Authorized to use manual pallet jacks, manual push/pull carts, manual hand trucks and ladders.
- Agency-issued steel-toe footwear must be always worn in the Warehouse floor area at all times.
- Work hours:
8:00 to 4:30.
